Ruelo is a filmmaker and video designer whose work explores cultural identity, memory, and cinematic experimentation, oftern bridging digital storytelling with live performance and documentary forms. An alum of the Mowelfund Film Institute and a fellow of the Asia Pacific Screen Lab, his films Divine XY and Kasaysayan ng Isang Ina have received recognition from Viddsee Juree and Gawad CCP for Alternative Films. He has participated in creative labs across Berlin, Los Angeles, Jakarta, and Busan. Currently, Ruelo is developing Project Talktales, a forthcoming initiative focused on community storytelling and archival practice, reflecting his growing interest in curatorship, found cinema, and live cinema. He remains active in mentorship and cross-disciplanary collaborations with dance and performance artists.
